rebels and Matt's farewell

"If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun."
-Katharine Hepburn

I think that's why I like her so much.

I am new to the rebellious thing. Last year, I never would have stuck my thumb in the wet cement in front of the school, j-walked, talked to the boys that I don't know that are super good looking, worn fish-nets, thrown something in class, made new friends, or asked a boy to dance just because I wanted to dance with them. Now, all of these things have been done. Some more than once. Actually, most more than once.

I wouldn't consider myself a real rebel at all. Real rebels get suspended, punch people, and swear. I am far from these things. I have only been 'in trouble' at school three times. One was because a teacher thought that my pump was a phone, one because I got my head stuck under the teacher's desk while trying to retrieve my pencil, and one (as mentioned before) was from tossing an aluminum foil ball to Jake. The closest I have been to punching a person would be punching a package of meat because it looked fun and I don't even know many swear words except for the ones that I hear at school. I am only more rebellious than I previously was. I don't stress about school as much as I did last year and I am not afraid to go outside of the lines. This is an excellent improvement, if you ask me! It's definitely a big change from eighth grade. That seems like a long time ago, though it has only been two years. In eighth grade, I didn't really have friends at my house except for my birthday party. Sure I played, but on rare occasions and it was never at my house. That was when I was too shy to ask someone to come over. And that was when I was slow to trust anyone. Good thing that's not applicable anymore! I have friends over constantly (especially if your name is Eliza and you live at my house) and I actually talk!

That was not the direction I was hoping for with this post, but I like it. Change. Change is good.

This weekend has been so good. I planned to play with friends, but it didn't happen. I played with my college friends, though and I love them so much! On Friday, I went to Communal with Megan, Valeria, and the rest of my family. I love Communal so much. It is probably my favorite restaurant. It is also involved in my perfect date. We ate some good stuff (as always) and had a lot of fun! After Communal, Liza and I delivered a special package to the other Al(ly)i that we had been working on for 1 1/2 weeks! It was good fun and we almost died. Saturday I raked leaves, went to Red Balloon, went to Hermana Taylor's home in Salt Lake (we missed her by a half hour), played with college friends, and watched Charlie St. Cloud. I will never get sick of that movie. I will also never get sick of the college friends. It probably could have been improved if a certain person (Spencer) didn't plan things so far in advance. I had some good bonding with the Taylor twins that night too. I love them. Today was Sunday. Sunday was Matt's farewell. Elder Porter will be entering the MTC on Wednesday. I will miss him and his close calls with Eliza and I so much! He is such a nice person. He is going to Toronto, Canada and he will be a great missionary.

Remind me to talk about Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Ask me questions. I like to have good stories.

P.s.- Don't go to school tomorrow. Let's go on strike. Or just pause the universe.
