Health and Longevity

Yesterday I saw a policeman talking on the phone while driving. Hypocrite.

Don't be a hypocrite. Live how you would like others to live.

Soy un perdedor.
Nee one faong pee!
Wo eye nee.
(I don't know how to transfer Chinese words into English letters...)

It's okay to say things in different languages. It's actually pretty fun!

___(insert name)___ is good around good people, and bad around others.

Stick with the good guys.

My new and good friend Spencer walked me to my bus yesterday. He passed his bus to take me to mine.

Be a gentleman. It is so much more attractive than being 'cool'.

Be persistent, but not annoying.

Stick to what you say, but don't over do it.

I talked to someone for the first time this week, though they are in several of my classes. They're actually pretty funny and cool!

Make new friends. They are indescribably wonderful.

I found something old that has become a treasure.

Look for new things in old things.

Have fun doing these challenges. That's a challenge in itself!

Now for the normal stuff.

I started drivers ed today. I hate it. It looks as though it will be my hardest class... and it's not even a real class! There is so much work in this class, and things are weird... Examples:

  • the radio is on (and it plays music unless you mess up)
  • there are no adults in the car with you
  • Mac is in that class. And Mac thinks that he knows who I like. That's annoying.
  • It takes 27 hours of just sitting there in class to pass
  • I can't miss a day, or I fail
  • basically all boys in my ward are in that class... you know what that means...
  • It's in the trailers.
This class seems terrible, but there is one good thing! And this good thing is the BEST good thing!
Michelle Mower is in my class!

I've never been this excited about a weird class before! I will hate the work, the range, and the class... but I will LOVE sitting by Michelle! She's a gem.

I brought my 1380 page book to school today! My back kills, but I have awesome muscles and a greater knowledge of EVERYTHING. It is called 'Health and Longevity', and I love it so so much! Let's read a few passages:

"Avoid Worrying.- Don't worry. It ages yourself and all your friends. A woman who thinks herself a compact bundle of symptoms looks old, is old, but unfortunately does not die soon enough to allow her friends to enjoy a little youth." -pg. 1092

"Bleeding From the Nose.- When obstinate, take cobweb or grated salt beef, hard and dry, and push it into the nostril as far as possible." -pg. 992

"Hunting- This passion is very general in boys who are brought up naturally, especially in the country. Everyone knows what pleasure a boy takes in the sight of a butterfly, fish, crab or other animal, or of a bird's nest. He has a strong passion for pulling apart, breaking, opening, and destroying all complex objects." -pg. 689

"Anger- Anger consists in picturing in the mind the actions and impression which would occur while inflicting some kind of pain. The destructive passion, according to Spencer, of which anger is a representative, is show in a general tension of the muscular system, in gnashing of teeth and protrusion of the claws, in dilated eyes and nostrils and in growls."- pg. 688

Have a good day. Don't growl, gnash your teeth, or protrude your claws.

  1. The gentleman thing is SO true.

Like when the boy you thought was one of those dumbrudejockboysthatarewithalltheirfriendssothey'llberude ends up waiting a full (seems like) 5 minutes (because you're trying to hurry) still waits there just to hold the door for you even when the rest of his friends tease him about it.

And then your entire perspective on them changes. Yeah, I LOVE that.

Sorry that probably doesn't make sense to you.
