Let us start with Wednesday, for that would be the next day for you if you are just now feasting your brain on this blog. Wednesday was quite a good one. I was assigned a BUTT LOAD of homework, but I've survived. After school, I got a haircut (the mullet needed to go) and went to the barn. The barn. Oh, no. It started out as Eliza, Rachel, and I planning to visit our dear friend Blake who now doesn't have his wisdom teeth. Then Ben joined us, and the situation instantly became better. (little did I know that Ben joining us would be a disaster).
We dropped Ben off at his house, then decided that he should come to the barn as well, so we went right on our merry way to Neighborhood Pony Farms. (the downfall begins...) I lunged Fancy for a while, because she was in a very hyper mood. All was well until she decided that she would rather run free with the other horses. She took off sending all other horses in the field into a charging flurry. They ran towards us. We had to jump the fence to avoid death by stampede. When I eventually caught Fancy again, we rode for a while and everything was just wonderful. I then mentioned bareback and Eliza jumped at this opportunity. She rode around for a while and loved it! Then it was Ben's turn...
Ben rode bareback backwards and Fancy trotted. It ended with Ben doing a front flip off of Fancy as she bucked, then an incredibly fast retreat by Ben. He earned his man points, but it cost a good elbow, soreness, and probably a strong hatred towards equine.
That's attractive!
After the nice riding and a shower, Ben, Eliza, and I went to Devin's 16th birthday party! It was an absolute blast and some crazy stuff went down. It was grand! Our little trio eventually left after the party and made our way to Eliza's where we watched the good parts of Lord of the Ring. It was quite lovely and I now understand why everyone loves Aragorn.
Let's go now to Thursday...
I woke up earlier than normal on Thursday to go to the Smith's cabin and to the outlets in Park City. I found some stellar items in Park City and froze my behind off at the cabin. The cabin was such an adventure at every turn. The cabin was colder than outside for the first hours, and I was only truly warm once I zipped up my sleeping bag. I watched the movie "Phenomenon" and cried so very hard with my mom, then went to bed. All of the bottom bunks were taken, so I had to struggle and wiggle onto the top bunk. The cabin doesn't have a flat roof, so half of the little bunk bed was too close to the ceiling to sleep on, and the other half had no railing. Rolling off in the night would mean instant death because of the unfortunate placement of my body and the metal things below. I crafted a pillow barrier around me, so that I couldn't roll, and squished my body between the ceiling and the hard mattress. I woke up with a bad neck, back, and arm.
*Before bed, I called elk and wolves in the woods... I had replies from the wolves!
We're now to Friday, but we're still at the cabin, so I'll just continue.
In the morning, I woke up to eat some extremely delicious cinnamon rolls. We then walked to boardwalks and climbed a few rocks. It was such an adventure.
I came home from the cabin and played with Eliza. Liza had a brilliant idea, and brought two toilet paper rolls for us to decorate and turn into Adventurescopes. She decorated hers as an ocean scene, and I made mine a majestic forest with an eagle soaring over it. I must say that we did good.
We used our Adventurescopes to find a good house to deliver our special plate painting, and doorbell ditched it there. We had much fun, so we decided to go to another house. Who's house is closest to Blake's? Ben's. We collected leaves and berries to write a message on his porch and decided on the word "swagger" because it's a word that Ben doesn't like. We wrote it, knocked on the door, and ran. We hid on the side of his house, and waited for a while. I then came up with the stupid idea to check if they got it. When I looked around the corner, Ben's dad was standing there and I gasped/yelped so loudly and followed Liza back to hide on the side of his house. This was so dumb, because there is a fence there which equals we are trapped. Ben's dog then starts to bark, and gives away our location. I start talking to it saying "it's okay, Sadie. Shhhhh." while I am not even certain that that is the dog's name. it was weird. We decide that it would be best to just run away, but when we go to run, we see Ben's dad there. There was no escaping that one. We had an awkward conversation then went on our way, not quite processing what just happened. We walked for a while afterwards and filmed some stuff.
When we got back to my house, we got a sleeping bag to lie down on the hammock. It was so nice. We had such deep conversations about everything imaginable. (kids, friends, maturity, husbands, would-be siblings, brothers, missions, foreigners, grapes, barriers, stars, anniversaries of hand-holding, couples, stupid people, rule #7, etc. I've never had such a good time in that hammock. It all went funky when we heard rustling in the bushes. It was much louder than it was on the night of the "Feral Cats" blog post. It was also much closer. We freaked and decided to not lay out there as bait anymore. We were now on a mission. A mission to see those raccoons.
Through much screaming, rustling, meat, string, and filming... We now know for certain that there is at least one raccoon back there. I plan to purchase a motion-activated night camera for further evidence, but I am pretty sure that no other animal has a burrow in my backyard, is fairly big, and makes raccoon noises. It was 10 times scarier than the 'Feral Cats' night. I wish that more of you would've been there to witness that one. It was good.
Saturday
Today was quite good. I helped organize the food room, cleaned my room and bathroom, had a cancellation with babysitting, and went to the Fork Fest.
The Fork Fest. Let's just say that I plan to attend every year. There were 30+ bands, sweet things, good people watching, fun friends, good bonding, Joshua James, happy thoughts, and new favorite bands. Rachel, Ben, and I went to work with Emily to sell some sweet bracelets. (don't worry, I know how to make them now!) They are so sweet because they are made from parachute chord, and have some cool clips. They can also save you life if you are falling off of a cliff. You just unravel it and lasso a branch or an elk (wow, never heard that one before!). I just shortened mine in fact by about 1/2 an inch today. I am surprised that I could actually do it! And I must say that it is looking mighty fine.
The bands at this Fork Fest were also extremely good looking to my ears! I absolutely LOVED Joshua James, for he moves in the strangest ways. I touched some guy's sweaty head as he held Ben's head which was... yeah... weird. I am pretty sure that I am deaf now from standing in front of those blasting speakers. Every cell in my body was dancing when I stood there. It probably looked like a cartoon with my hair flying back from the power of the music! I hope it did. I liked Book on Tapeworm so much. I am pretty sure that that was the greatest moment. I was sitting behind a man that smelled SO GOOD while listening to the beautiful voices of that Book on Tapeworm band. If the singer had short hair, I would like them better, though. The girl that plays the piano has such a good type of voice, it's crazy. I love it. I would very much like to go to a show of theirs. That acoustic section was my absolute favorite! The lights were the greatest things ever and I am pretty sure that the night air mixed with the music and lights would be so romantic in a movie. Some of the people there could be in a movie. Every person there was crazy in that way that I adore. Normal people stood out. Everyone had that chill, artsy look and cool hair. I very much liked it. The people-watching was quite quality.
I had some good bonding time with my friends and it was confirmed that I love them. I sometimes wish that people controlled their feelings for each other though. It gets annoying. Let us just all be good, good friends until we turn 37, okay? 37 is when you can start group dating. haha!
I got a picture with Joshua James. This is that picture:
It's okay, I give you permission to be jealous.
And here is Ben with Joshua:
(I don't know your email address, so I couldn't send it.)
Rachel:
I have just now noticed that he looks creepily the same in both pictures. Oh, yeah! They didn't get pictures with the real person, this is a cardboard cutout.
...Seriously though. It's scary.
After all of that fun stuff, Ben and I sat on the lawn to wait for a ride. There was shadiness in the temple parking lot. What? I know. I didn't think that anyone was so dumb! It was probably funniest when Ben thought that people were taking pictures of us, though. Baha. Weird miscommunication.
Sunday?
I went to Eliza's Sunday school class and had much fun! I am disappointed that Ben wasn't there to help me explain the Fork Fest, though. It was probably the first time that I have ever spoken in that class. I loved it. I walked home barefoot and collected fun things while walking home and singing a song about what I had learned today.
I then had a nice story time with Valeria and Megan about... things? It was good.
We're up to real time now, people! This is exciting. You should hear more about these events though, which means that you should talk to me. I always have a lot to say.
Go have a nice day and let's all skip school tomorrow! (rebellious.)
