Too Casual

I think that manners should go back to the way they used to be.

Not to the extremes of bowing and only saying "sir", but just to the point of carrying a girl's books for her and dressing up to get on an airplane, etc.

Don't they look so nice?

Sweats and headphones.

Let's be real.

What happened?

We are too casual now.

And that is another reason that I should have been born in 1935.

Adventures

My weekend started out on Friday with Physics Day at Lagoon.

Yes. It was pretty fun being at Lagoon with 7,000 other physics nerds...

And the bonus of being there was that the National Clogging Competition was going on at the same time! That means that Sara and Katie were there! I love these cloggers...

Immediately following Physics Day (I do mean immediately literally) we left for Blue John Canyon (aka the place where Aron Ralston was trapped and had to cut his arm off)! It was a beautiful hike, though we were lost for a while in the blasting heat.

While on this adventure, we...
  1. Hit a hawk with our car
  2. Were caught in a mini tornado, and lost some items to the sky
  3. Found bones that would equal a whole cow if put together
  4. Were lost
  5. Found those among us with bladders of steel (and also those of paper)
  6. Almost had two concussions among us
  7. "It's better to go in the wilderness than to die of dehydration"
  8. Had quite the experience!

On the 3+ hour drive!

I unfortunately lost a limb...

Lost...
The Melendi are planning on several more of these adventures in the near future!

Snap Fingers, Nod Head

You know when you know someone and you know that they do not know you or even know that you know them, yet you feel like you are friends?

Yeah. Me too.

It is fun and provides plenty of awkward moments in my life...

I love awkward moments.

I seem to be a magnet for awkward/crazy/unexpected events.

My most recent one?

This:

I was walking along down a hall at school by myself. Pretty normal, right? Yeah. I was minding my own business when suddenly I hear someone shout my full name at the top of their lungs. I look up to see a girl (whom I do not really know) running towards me full speed. I think to myself "She will probably stop." and "maybe she is coming to hug me or something" before I realize "She isn't stopping. She is really close. She can't stop now! What is going on?! She is going to hit me! AAAAAAAAAAAA!" Then I instinctively throw up my arms in front of my face as if it will protect me. There was no time to think. She was closing in.

IMPACT.

She hit me full force and I flew back about ten feet, stumbled, then turned around a few times to see what had just happened. Then I actually said "What just happened?" and she replied, "Ally just happened."

And then I had a tooth mark on my knuckle from the force pushing my 'protecting hands' into my face.

And nobody saw it but me and her.

I honestly looked around as if saying "Did NO ONE see that?! That NEVER happens! That was the single most random thing that could have happened and no one even saw it?!"

There were no witnesses.

And now that my tooth mark has faded, I am even doubting myself. I seriously cannot believe that that happened. It must have been a dream or a hallucination or something...

But it wasn't.

Story of my life.

random, unexpected, painful, hilarious, unbelievable.

You Are...

My conversation with Meghan:

You are sunshine on a cloudy day
You are the 'spark' in Sparkie the dog
You are the parachute of my sky dive
You are the adventure in the adventures of Lassie (good ol' Lass)
You are the suade of my blue suede shoes
You are the 8ft string of my Kim Possible kite
You are the fuzz o fmy snuggie
You are the peel of my tangerine
You are the buckle of my belt
You are the cherry on top
You are the music of my stake dance
You are the mortar of my bricks
You are the paint on my fingers (when finger painting)
You are the popcorn of my movie
You are the extension cord of my radio on a summer night street
You are the lead refills of my mechanical pencil
You are the top of my banana
You are the Justin Beiber of my ipod
You are the dressing of my salad
You are the chapstick of my lips
You are the ClearPlay of an R rated movie
You are that one addicting thing in Dr. Pepper
You are the smile of my laugh
You are the baby hairs on my ear lobe
You are the wish of my folded chips
You are the hammock of my summer night
You are the snooze button on my alarm clock
You are the ink of my pen
You put the 'hip' in hippopotamus
You put the rain in rain jacket

Born to be Wild

I want to go see this movie so badly, it's insane!

African Cats was brilliant and I am serious about becoming a biologist someday because of all of the recent exposure to wildlife I have received recently.

I am seriously sad that I cannot just drive a group of my friends up to Salt Lake to see it with me! If only I had gotten my license earlier...

I am just hoping that some boy will be think: "Hey, I want to see that movie. Hey, I can drive friends. Hey, I should just ask Ally on a date and we will go there because she would probably love it too!"

*hint hint*

P.S. How does one become a biologist?
