I'm Back

Well, hello there! I'm sorry it's been such a long time. More than a year, I believe. And let me tell you, a lot has happened in the past year!

I'm not going to give a recap or anything, I'm just starting now.

Life is great! I am lacking some friends due to the whole missionaries/college/homework thing, I do not have much time to do anything but homework most days, and sleep is no longer top priority, but I am having a nice time.

My classes are pretty difficult and college is much different than high school. I do, however, have fun looking forward to little things in each class. For example:
  • My Living with Plants teacher is a tomato breeder and is one of the quirkiest and smartest people I know. I want to write a book about him or something. The other day he heard something in class and actually stopped and said, "for reals?!" like he was 5 years old. He's the best. AND he has a mustache.
  • My Living Prophets teacher is the announcer for General Conference and does Music and the Spoken Word each week. His voice is very powerful and actually scares me sometimes, but he gives us a heads -up on what Music and the Spoken Word will be about that week and knows so much about the prophets.
  • There is a British boy who sits behind me in my Human Geography class. His voice is beautiful. Plus we are kind of friends.
  • My Wildlife and Wildlands Conservation class is the overall best.
  • My Book of Mormon teacher is one of the kindest humans. He talks about his peaches constantly and can seriously relate them to any gospel principle.
  • My cousin saves me a seat in my Public Health class.
  • I get to meet new people every day in American Heritage.
I have found that by making lists like these, I will survive the reading and the tests.

Barely, but I will survive.

My Fifth--And Last--Diabetes Walk

Today was the last time I will walk to find the cure for diabetes.

At least for a while.

That's messed up.

I really don't want to grow up.

But my rewind button is broken and the pause doesn't last.

I May Be Overreacting Due to Monthly Troubles, But I Am Still Angry.

There are certain people in your life who you can't not do things with.

And it really hurts when you realize that they can do things without you. Lots of things.

I cried tonight.

And it wasn't just a "Wow-I-feel-sad-right-now" cry. It was a "My-'friends'-are-just-using-me" cry.

I ran tonight.

Not just a "I'm-going-to-be-good-and-run" run, but a "I-don't-care-how-far-I-go-just-get-me-out-of-here" run.

I am a happy person, but happy people get hurt too. Happy people like to be involved. Happy people love the fun things they buy and hate when people take advantage of them for their 'fun things'.

And that is why I went home.

But you probably didn't care because I left my 'fun things' with you.

We Love Summer

It's official. Summer is here!

Sure, the last day of school was a week ago, but I've been having too much fun to write about it.

This week has been full of chalk, water, sun, hammocks, laughter, food, and good times. And summer has only just begun.

Next week is Birdseye (a student council retreat) and I am stoked beyond measure! Conner just made it onto student council this week (our current SB Artist is moving back to Australia in a few weeks), and he'll be coming too! I love everyone on student council oh so very much. And I love the SB Advisers. Senior council has already become a family and I am so happy that we are all best friends! Our summer camps will be unreal.

I apologize for my lack of posts. It's really been about a year of inconsistent posting. I'll try to fix it. But for now, I'm off to bed.

The smell of a campfire is among my favourites.

We're Old

The AP test is on Friday! I honestly don't know if I am so so scared or so so excited... A little bit of both, I suppose. After the AP test, the class is basically over. It's crazy. What makes it crazy is the fact that once it's over, we're seniors. That means we're old. And that means my boys will leave for TWO WHOLE YEARS. I cried the other day thinking about it. I love my boys. Study, but not too much. I love you lots! -Ally
